The North Devon pottery collection includes items from medieval times to the present day. Apart from excavated material (including a 17th century kiln) the most significant part of the collection is of Art Pottery made by the three Barnstaple potteries, C.H.Brannam, William Baron and Alexander Lauder from 1879 to the 1930s. The collections also feature a selection of pots by the Fishley family of Femington.
The C.H.Brannam collection includes documents, moulds and equipment from one of Barnstaple’s biggest employers, which was in operation until 2006.
