Our local history collection include key historical objects items including 16th century balloting pots, the Barnstaple Fire engine and items relating to important local individuals like the poet John Gay.
The collection also charts North Devon in the 20th Century featuring objects mostly made or used in North Devon, illustrating our domestic and industrial history. As part of our museum mission we actively collect stories that give crucial local context to these collections.
