Museum Explorers

What is an explorer? What do they do? What do they find?

This exciting workshop will introduce the learners to some of the oldest collections in the museum. Including pre-historic animals, exotic bugs, musical instruments and wonderful artworks. After a brief introduction our mini explorers will work in groups to study a historical object. The learners will then explore the museum creating their own collection from the displays.

This workshop lasts approximately 1 Hour. £30 per workshop (up to 30 attendees)

The workshop takes place in our learning room. Groups are then free for a teacher/leader led exploration of the museum.

Portraits in Art

What can a portrait tell us? Studying the portraits of lords, poets and artists in the collection students will explore how art reflects society, records the past and tells a story. Inspired by original paintings students will produce their own portraits developing their creative skills and understanding how art can shape history.

This workshop lasts approximately 1 Hour. £30 per workshop (up to 30 children)
