Our supporters mean a huge amount to the museum. Whether it’s making a donation during your visit or leaving a legacy in your will. Our donors and supporters enable us to care for the heritage of North Devon, run an inspiring programme of exhibitions and provide free family events throughout the year.

The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon Development Trust

The Trust was set up in 2014 with the aim of supporting the museum in its duties of curation and education. As a charity (Registered number 1158495), we are in a position to apply for funding from national bodies and to invite donations. Our first and outstanding success has been to raise over £200,000 towards the Long Bridge Wing extension to the museum completed in 2019. Long term we are here to respond with financial and organisational support when large potential acquisitions become available or when a new project requires our help. Together with the Friends of the Museum we are here to maintain a live link between the museum and the community of North Devon.

The Patron of the Development Trust is Lady Arran and the trustees are:
