The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon are excited to announce the theme Our Town for the Documentary Photography Open 2023. Held during March to April in the temporary exhibition gallery the Open is free to enter with a public prize of £300.
This year’s theme is Town, the theme can be whatever entrants feels this means to them. Whether it’s a comment of the heritage, sense of belonging of our town, to the strength shown in community over the last few years, documenting the changing times of our towns and villages and celebrating our local way of life.
The exhibition provides a platform for everyone with an interest in photography from camera phone enthusiasts to established contemporary photographers. The museum hopes to inspire photographers, offer valuable exposure and help keep the tradition of photography alive in North Devon.
