After many years of making and decorating cakes for her children, Bryony’s brother-in-law challenged her to make his wedding cake. This was a departure from her normal cake making and decorating and she found that creating the sugar work involved had given her a real interest in the craft.
Her practice took off after visits to view professional sugar work – first at a church hall in Oxford and then to Cake International at Birmingham NEC. Bryony saw the sugar work and was inspired.
Soon her beautiful work was being acknowledged and she was being asked to decorate cakes for Katie Sanderson of Couture Cakes in Lincolnshire. Bryony started decorating wedding cakes for Katie evolving her style to include more and more delicate and intricate flowers – larger and grander than she had made before.
This short exhibition will showcase some of Bryony’s beautiful work.
