North Devon’s pottery tradition stretches back over 700 years. In Barnstaple it reached its peak in the late 19th century when the three firms of C.H.Brannam, William Baron and Alexander Lauder were all making brightly coloured decorative vases and pots for a growing market.
Over 300 pieces are on display, from early utility ware to motto ware, grotesques and high art Victorian vases and jardinières.
