People have been living in North Devon for thousands of years. North Devon’s archaeology is largely undiscovered, and new finds are constantly being made. This gallery displays objects found by Victorian amateurs as well as more recently, and includes part of our enormous geology collections, including a reconstruction of the Barnstaple elephant which died only a few hundred metres from here some 120,000 years ago.
