Family Visits

Coats and Buggies

Coats, prams and pushchairs may be left at reception. Please notify a member of staff before doing so. We remind visitors that the museum can not accept responsibility for the loss or damage to any belongings.

Baby Changing

Baby changing facilities are available on the Ground floor. Please ask a member of staff for assistance.

Toilets

There are toilets on all floors and they are all accessible to wheelchair users.

Lift

The museum lift is situated close to the main entrance and provides access to both floors. Please read our accessibility guide for measurements and user instructions.

Eating areas

Bromley’s tearoom staff are happy to warm bottles and highchairs are available. Breastfeeding is encouraged and supported in the museum. Please ask a member of staff if you wish to use a quiet space.

Shop

The museum shop is located near the main entrance where pocket money friendly gifts are available.

Kids Quiz

Our popular family quiz tells the story of North Devon through the amazing objects on both floors. For under 5’s we have Barney’s Trail, a sensory adventure with our museum mascot Barney the Elephant. Quizzes and trails are available from reception.

Curious Creators – Family workshops

Our free family workshops are run every Wednesday during half terms and the summer holidays. The workshops seek to combine fun and creative learning, engaging with the fantastic objects in our collections. Check our ‘Whats On’ page or follow our social media for announcements for this year’s events.
